Privacy Policy

Scout is a personal AI goal coaching app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We take your privacy seriously and will never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Information we collect

When you use Scout, we collect information you provide directly:

• Your email address and password when you create an account
• Your goals, including goal type, goal text, and any details you share during onboarding
• Your answers to onboarding questions about obstacles, effort, and experience
• Your daily mood check-ins and any notes you add
• Your task completions and reflections
• Messages you send in the Scout chat feature
• Any other information you choose to share with Scout

We also collect limited technical information automatically:

• Device type and operating system version
• App usage data such as which features you use and when
• Push notification tokens if you enable notifications
• Crash reports and error logs to help us fix bugs

How we use your information

Everything we collect is used to provide and improve your coaching experience:

• To generate your daily tasks, grounded in behavioral science and personalized to your profile
• To power Scout's coaching responses in chat
• To build and refine your user profile over time so Scout gets better at coaching you
• To send you push notifications if you have enabled them
• To process your subscription through RevenueCat
• To diagnose technical problems and improve the app

We use Anthropic's Claude API to generate coaching content. Your goal information, coaching context, mood data, and profile data are sent to Anthropic's API to generate personalized coaching responses. We send only what is necessary for this purpose. Anthropic's privacy policy governs their handling of that data.

How we store your information

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is deleted within 30 days. Encrypted backups may persist for up to 90 days before being permanently purged.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Information we do not collect

• We do not collect your precise location
• We do not access your contacts, photos, or camera
• We do not collect data from other apps on your device
• We do not sell your data to third parties
• We do not use your data for advertising

Third-party services

Scout uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase, database and authentication. Privacy policy
• Anthropic, AI model provider for coaching content generation. Privacy policy
• RevenueCat, subscription management. Your purchase history and subscription status are shared with RevenueCat to process and verify your subscription. Privacy policy

Your choices and rights

You have control over your data:

• You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app
• You can request a copy of your data by emailing us at support@itsscout.com
• You can turn off push notifications at any time in your device settings
• You can request deletion of your data by emailing us at support@itsscout.com

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and the right to data portability. Contact us at support@itsscout.com to exercise these rights.

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell your personal information. Contact us at support@itsscout.com to make a request.

Children

Scout is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@itsscout.com and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Scout after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
